East Coast Contemporary Ballet’s opening Fall Season

A mixed bill that spans East Coast Contemporary Ballet’s existence, featuring pieces from 2019 onward, a brand-new version of Deconstructed and a world premiere.

The project is the brainchild of local resident and artist Steven Colucci, who is the President of the Musical Mime Theatre. Mr. Colucci has made it his personal mission to expose the younger generation to some of the art forms he has spent so many years of his life dedicated to studying.

The evenings will feature East Coast Contemporary Ballet and Jon Lehrer Dance Company.

Newport Contemporary Ballet presents the Newport Dance Festival on its festival stage on the lawn of the Great Friends Meeting House. Each evening the performance features a unique lineup of dances drawn on the talent, artistry, and unique styles of the festival’s five visiting dance companies, and Newport’s resident Newport Contemporary Ballet.

Patrons are encouraged to arrive early. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic, blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy world class dance in an outdoor, social setting.

Live musicians will be featured in a brand-new work by Claire Mazza with music by composer Javier Farias. This is a result of a creative collaboration with MoCA Westport. Alejandro Ulloa will be premiering another new piece set to Ezio Basso’s music and a magnetic duet by Frances Ortiz will be performed. Don’t miss this dynamic evening that marries contemporary dance and string music in expert and unexpected ways.
